Daycare... check!
Yay! We found childcare for our little girl tonight! It is a brand new place close to home. There is a location in Urbandale currently, this is a new location in West Des Moines, located off Mills Civic Parkway. It is called Pure Imagination, here is the website: www.pureimaginationkids.com. They have cameras on at all times so you can log into the internet and watch your little one at any time... which we thought was super cool. We both had a good feeling about this place :)

Baby girl in 3D/4D!
We had a 3D/4D Ultrasound done tonight at Prenatal Vision. We got to watch our baby girl for 18 minutes tonight. We saw her yawn, smile, try to open her eyes and move around. However she didn't want to move around too much, she is a little cuddle bug. She likes to use my placenta for her pillow. No matter what position I was in she would cuddle up to my placenta. She always had her legs crossed. And her hands were always by her face. I'm falling in love with this little girl!

One Year!!!
Our one year anniversary was October 16th! I can't believe one year has gone by already. I guess the saying "time flies when you are having fun" really holds true! We had a wonderful first year together as a married couple and I look forward to many many more. To celebrate we went to Galena, Illinois. We stayed at the Irish Cottage which was lovely, we saw some irish dancing and live music in the pub... Friday night we ate dinner at Vinny Vanucchi's and went on a horse and carriage ride down Main Street. Saturday we enjoyed the beautiful fall day; we did a little sight seeing and shopping in all of the cute boutiques that line Main Street in Galena. We then stopped at Betty Jane's in Dubuque for some carmel apples! YUM! They are The Best. Saturday night we went to Pepper Sprout in Dubuque, one of our favorite restaurants. I had squash ravioli with cranberries, it was so autumnish and delicious and Jason had macaroni & cheese surprise. Pepper Sprout changes their menus with each new season and I just love their fall menu. We watched our wedding video and had a few bites of the top tier of our wedding cake. Surprisingly, it was sooooo good after one year in the freezer! Here are a few pictures from our anniversary weekend:
Nursery update ~ the crib is now all set up, the walls are painted pink, the pink curtains are up and we now have a pink rug, dresser/changing topper and bedside table. We are still waiting on a rocker/glider and bookshelf. We need some stuff up on the walls... but the nursery is looking more like a nursery and I love just going in there and looking, wondering and dreaming. Here is a picture of our progress:
We got some awesome awesome news last week! Jason's brother Jim and his wife Toni are expecting! They are due May 14, 2011. So the babies will be only be 4 months apart in age. It is so great that these two cousins will be so close in age and live so close, Jim and Toni live in Ankeny. I wonder if they are having a boy or girl... they'll find out in December I think. We couldn't be more thrilled for them. 2011 is already looking like a very exciting year with 2 baby Taylors on the way and Ben and Mary Ella getting married in September! ...So much to look forward to!
This weekend we are headed up to Sioux City to celebrate George's birthday which was October 18th (Jason's dad). And my birthday is Monday :) I took the day off so 3 day weekend for me! Jason gave me a pregnancy massage for our anniversary, so I have scheduled that for 2:30 on Monday. I also plan on sleeping in, getting a pedicure, and doing a little shopping! I love taking the day off on my birthday, I think every company should give you that day as a personal holiday, don't ya think? ;)

We've been very busy and we are only going to get more busy with a baby! Seriously, where did the month of September go?
Here is a little recap of our month: We spent Labor Day weekend in Dubuque... Jason went to the Iowa game with my brothers and my dad and we celebrated Ava's 7th birthday. My mom & dad bought us a crib for the baby at Target! Monday we were back in Des Moines for the Iowa Cubs last home game of the season, we went with Jim & Toni. Jason got Ryne Sandberg's autograph on his Sandberg jersey and baseball. Maybe Ryno will be the next Chicago Cubs Manager?! That would be so cool! We always enjoy going to Iowa Cubs games, it reminds us of our very 1st date :) The next weekend we went to Sioux City for Jason's birthday weekend and spent some time with Jason's parents. We watched the Iowa-Iowa State game, did some shopping, of course ate at Green Gables (love their matzo ball soup, chicken strips, and crinkle cut french fries!), and of course had delicious birthday cake made by their family friend Jill. Jason turned 31. So for 1 month I am only 1 year older than him ;) During the week Jason and I registered at Target and Babies R Us, so much fun! Then the following weekend Jason's parents came to Des Moines. We went to the Des Moines Baby Expo and did a little baby shopping at Babies R Us and Pottery Barn Kids. George & Virginia bought us the Chicco Stroller and Car Seat. We are so blessed to have such supportive parents in our lives. Thanks mom & dad for the crib and thanks George & Virginia for the stroller/car seat! We found a really good deal on crib bedding at Pottery Barn Kids, it is the Spring Bouquet design, our very favorite AND it was on sale for $49.99 (originally $129.99!). The next week we registered at Pottery Barn Kids. We also had dinner with our good friends The Funks and Sarah... always good to see friends!
THEN on the night of the 22nd we left for our 10 day vacation! We drove to Indy Wednesday night and arrived after midnight to Ben & Mary Ella's. Thursday we spent the day with them, hung out at the pool (it was 94 degrees!) and I got to see the bridesmaid dresses Mary Ella picked out. Super cute... Lula Kate... LOVE them! We were able to choose our own style, I chose the "Caroline" style (boat neck top with full skirt). They will all be in the same color, a really pretty deep/bright purple. I'm so excited for September 24, 2011! Mary Ella's sister Katherine was also with us, it was so nice to meet her! We had a great day in Indy, we got to see their new adorable apartment and enjoyed their company! Ben even did a cannonball for us at the pool! Friday we left early in the morning for our drive to Fredericksburg, Virginia. We drove through Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia on Friday. The Charleston turnpike (WV) was a gorgeous drive! We also drove on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Appalachian Mountains and that was a little scary for me... cliffs and narrow 2 lane highway. But it was absolutely beautiful and Jason snapped some really good photos. I'm glad we did it! We arrived to Fredericksburg after 9:00 and we were pooped out after 14 hours in the car! We were greeted by about 20 of my family members that were already there for my cousin Laura's wedding the next day! Saturday morning before the wedding a group of us did some touristy stuff (Battlefield Museum, Mary Washington's home, etc.) in Fredericksburg then we all got ready for Laura Scherner's wedding! Laura married Gerber Santos, it was a beautiful fall day and a beautiful wedding! Sunday my parents, Jason, and I left for Richmond, Virginia where my cousin Adam Banwarth lives with his wife Sarah. We did some touristy stuff during the day (canal boat cruise, Cary street, etc.) and ate at Buzz & Ned's BBQ (featured on the Food Network). Monday morning we went to a Civil War Museum and ate at Comfort (very yummy comfort food! ~ the mashed potatoes were sooooo good!). Jason and I then left for Washington DC and my parents left for Williamsburg. Jason and I spent the next 3 days in DC exploring and experiencing our nation's capital. We went on a Pentagon tour (thanks to our friends Janet & Dave!), saw the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Washington DC double decker open-top bus tour, Union Station, the Capital, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Smithsonian Museums, White House, National Cathedral, Georgetown Cupcakes, and more! It was all truly AMAZING! We left Thursday and drove up to Niagara Falls. We saw the falls at night, then got up early the next day to see them in the daylight. All I can say is WOW! So cool! We went on the Maid of the Mist boat tour Friday morning which brought us in the middle of the Horseshoe Falls, it was incredible! We had lunch at The Silo in Lewiston, New York... featured on Man vs. Food. Then our drive home to Des Moines... we arrived home Saturday afternoon. We had lots of mail to sort through and laundry to do! Jason ended up going to the Iowa game that night with his brother Jim and I relaxed and caught up on DVR. We missed all the premieres, I still have some catching up to do.
So that brings us to now! Whew! September was quite the month! Our next big project is converting our guest bedroom/office into a nursery. We have rented a storage unit to store all our extra stuff and we moved the desk to our bedroom this past weekend. We are going to keep our guest bed in the nursery but we had to clear out the closet and move the treadmill, recumbent bike and TV out of the room. We need to sell our town house because we need a bigger house ...like yesterday! Jason is painting the nursery in Sweet Taffy, a really pretty pink as I write this blog! I really hope the ultrasonographer was correct in telling us we are having a girl because everything is PINK!
I am 24 weeks pregnant now and I have a very visible baby bump! I feel pretty good other than heart burn (TUMS are my best friend) and some left leg pain due to a nerve being pinched (but usually only when I stand or walk). I can feel her moving around a lot in there and Jason can now feel her too, he felt a good kick last night!
