Christmas in Dubuque and Des Moines
We celebrated Sigwarth Christmas this year in Dubuque the weekend of December 18. It was just Mom, Dad, Jared, Tam, Ava, Wil, Ben, Mary Ella, Grandma and us. We had italian beef sandwiches and cheesy potatoes for lunch then opened gifts in the afternoon. Ava & Wil dressed as Mary and Joseph for a little prayer and Ava read us the story of Jesus' birth. It was so cute. A lot of great gifts and memories. Mom got her very own laptop! :) Later that night we had Happy Joe's pizza, visited the live Nativity that Paul Scherner is involved with, drove through Reflections in the Park and went out to Grandma's house in Farley for some dominoes! Sunday we had brunch at Jared & Tam's. This time Jason and I stayed at Jared & Tammy's house, we had our own little set-up downstairs in their spare bedroom and bathroom. Tammy had bottled water on our nightstands, slippers and extra toiletry items set up in a basket. It was fun to stay there for a change, we thought it would be a great chance to spend a little extra time with the kiddos before our baby arrives. Here are some pictures of the weekend:
We celebrated Taylor Christmas in Des Moines on Christmas Eve and Christmas. My doctor didn't want me traveling within one month of my due date, so George and Virginia came to us! It was George, Virginia, Jim, Toni and us! Jeff's family couldn't make it. Christmas Eve we went to church in Ankeny, then everyone came back to our house. We had the Taylor tradition of Chick-fil-A chicken nuggets and Jerry's Pizza (from Sioux City). We played some games and enjoyed each other's company. We were at Jim & Toni's on Christmas Day. We prepared a great meal together; ham, cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, pie, etc. It was delicious! We spent the afternoon opening up presents and the evening watching Christmas movies. Sunday we hit the malls and stores for some after-Christmas deals. Here are some pictures from the weekend:
Next Christmas we will have a very different experience with an almost 1 year old! :) We can't wait!
